Information to help your business benefit from telecommunications

Is your business ready for Winter?

Have you noticed how easily we believe that bad things will always happen to other people and not to us. We're told that one in three people will have cancer at some point in their lives, and we firmly believe that it won't be us. Until, of course, it is.

We tend to be the same about other calamities. We tempt providence by not taking out the extra insurance when we hire a car, or run the tank down to fumes only instead of refilling in good time...but has anyone reading this not run out of petrol at least once?

So let's now think about your business and the calamities that could befall there...not that they ever would, of course...but, well, just in case...

Let's talk about the weather. Whether (sorry) or not you subscribe to global warming it's an inescapable fact that winters are becoming more extreme. Most of us will remember the floods around the country over the last few years, but did you know that large areas of Bristol were within an ace of being flooded too?

Let's talk about power failures. Did you know that whereas as recently as three years ago the National Grid had reserve electricity generating capacity just in case of 17%, this winter it will be just 4%? That means it's becoming increasingly likely that we'll experience occasional blackouts.

What does all this mean? Essentially that it's important to have a plan in place for when things go wrong, and go wrong can be anything from a flood to blizzards, power failures to frozen pipes, leaking roofs to internet failure, or sickness or a fire or accident...anything that stops your every day business from continuing, losing you money in the process.

So, here's the question: how will you respond to a calamity? Can you and your staff work independently from the office? Could you communicate with each other? Could you manage all your incoming and outgoing calls in such a way that your callers have no idea that anything is different? Because if not, then perhaps you should give us a call and allow us to help you Be Prepared .
